Requirements for certification bodies that award certificates to products, processes and services.
In order to guarantee expertise and impartiality, certification bodies are also audited. This audit (accreditation) is carried out by the Dutch Accreditation Council (RvA) or another accreditation body (designated on the basis of European Regulation 765/2008) on the basis of the above accreditation standards. This accreditation focuses on both the management system and the technical competences of certification bodies. The RvA assesses the certification body against the relevant standard (ISO 17020/17021/17024/17065).
According to the Accreditation Council, accrediting literally means: giving confidence. Granting justified confidence that the quality of products and services is in order.
